First Look at the New Conan the Barbarian

It was a role that once belonged to Arnold Schwarzenegger back when he was a force to be reckoned with, and now Hollywood wants to introduce us to a new Conan the Barbarian in actor Jason Momoa. Our first official image of Momoa as the warrior doesn't reveal much (not even a muscle really), and instead gives us a close-up of the man's long, flowing brown hair and sinister stare.

Jason Momoa as 'Conan'

Momoa has been criticized by fans in the past as not being as big as Schwarzenegger, but then again not many actors have come along who were as big as Ahnold. It's not like these guys grow on trees, and in my opinion I'd rather a smaller and more versatile Conan -- ya know, a Conan who can take out 20 men in hand-to-hand combat, throwing down lethal combinations with his fists, forearms and giant sword.
The film, due out next year, was directed by Marcus Nispel, and will feature Conan traveling across Hyboria on a quest to avenge his father's death. Stephen Lang, who played the bad guy in Avatar, will play another villain here … and that excites me very much.
What do you think of Momoa as Conan? Too male-model sexy, or just the right amount of toughness?
