'Fifty Shades' Has Its New Christian Grey – Good Choice?

A couple days ago word leaked out that Universal had narrowed down its Christian Grey-replacement search to two actors.

Yesterday evening, Variety revealed that one of those actors has indeed landed the role of Mr. Grey in the upcoming adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey.

Irish actor Jamie Dornan has been tapped to play Christian Grey following a "steamy screen test" with costar Dakota Johnson. Neither Universal nor Focus Features have confirmed Dornan's casting yet.

Dornan replaces Sons of Anrachy star Charlie Hunnam, who bowed out of the role a couple of weeks ago.

Hunnam finally broke the silence on why he left the role. Speaking with E! News, Hunnam said, "I am just really concentrating on work. It's been a really busy time. I have had some family stuff going on, so [I'm] just trying to stay focused and stay positive and keep trying to do a good job at work and be with my family and stay positive," he said. The actor revealed that his father passed away this spring.

Hunnam added that after he wraps the sixth and final season Sons of Anarchy, he'll be traveling back home to England to be with family and friends before beginning production on Guillermo del Toro's horror-thriller Crimson Peak.

Shades fans, are you happy with Dornan as the new Christian Grey?
