Fanboy Fix: Zoe Saldana's New Role Plus First Looks at Quicksilver in 'Days of Future Past' and Marvel's One-Shot

If you're a fan of Avatar or the rebooted Star Trek franchise or eagerly anticipating Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, chances are you know who Zoe Saldana is. The fanboy-friendly actress has lined up a new role and it might surprise some folks.

The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Saldana will star in NBC's TV miniseries adaptation of Rosemary's Baby. Saldana will play the mother-to-be in the series.

Rosemary's Baby centers on a couple that moves into a Paris apartment with a dark past. When Rosemary becomes pregnant, strange things begin to happen that cause her to think that everyone has ulterior motives for her unborn child.

NBC's EVP of movies and miniseries Quinn Taylor had this to say about Saldana's casting: "Zoe has proven that she is one of our most gifted actresses and we think she has the perfect combination of spirit and gravitas to take on the title role from Ira Levin's infamous novel. With Zoe leading the cast… this reimagined event miniseries is off to a great start."

There currently isn't a premiere date, but when it does arrive on TV, will you tune in?

Now that we've moved on (sort of) from comparing Bryan Singer and Joss Whedon's use of Marvel character Quicksilver in their respective films, we get a first look at Singer's Days of Future Past interpretation. Below, Evan Peters, who plays Quicksilver is standing behind Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy. As you can see, with the silver hair and silver jacket, it's a very literal interpretation.

X-Men: Days of Future Past is in theaters May 23.

We've been hearing for a while about Ben Kingsley possibly returning to reprise his Iron Man 3 role in the latest Marvel One-Shot. Rumors had also begun to crop up that Tom Hiddleston's Loki could possibly be starring in the One-Shot instead.

Today, Marvel revealed new images (via Entertainment Weekly) and a plot for the One-Shot. Read below:

Written and directed by Drew Pearce, who cowrote "Iron Man 3," "Marvel One-Shot: All Hail the King" finds Trevor in prison following the events of Tony Stark's latest adventure as the former actor relates the story of his life to a documentary filmmaker, played by Scoot McNairy.

The One-Shot will be part of the special features on Thor: The Dark World. It will be available in digital 3D and digital HD on February 4 and in a 3D combo pack and Blu-ray on February 25.

There's more over in the Entertainment Weekly interview including how the One-Shot came together and whether it could possibly lead to Iron Man 4.
