Speaking of Marvel, the studio announced on Monday that Captain America: The Winter Soldier began filming in Los Angeles. The sequel will also shoot in Cleveland and Washington D.C. in the coming months.
In the press release, Marvel offered casting and plot updates to go along with the first image, below.
"Captain America: The Winter Soldier will pick-up where Marvel's The Avengers left off, as Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C."
The cast will have Chris Evans in the title role along with Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Toby Jones as Armin Zola and Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter. Jones and Atwell starred in the first Captain America movie.
Casting additions include Robert Redford as Agent Alexander Pierce, a senior leader within S.H.I.E.L.D.; Sebastian Stan as The Winter Soldier/Bucky Barnes; Anthony Mackie as The Falcon; Frank Grillo as Brock Rumlow; and MMA star Georges St-Pierre as Georges Batroc.
