We may be reaching mutant overload on Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past. The director has been busy piecing together the latest film and tweeting out pics from the set for the past couple of months.
Recently, he shared a look at Halle Berry's Storm and Shawn Ashmore's Iceman. In his latest tweet, Singer posted a Vine clip of the various character's chairs on set. The six second clip shows close-ups of Logan, Xavier, Magneto, Storm, Bishop, Kitty Pryde, Iceman, Colossus and two new additions – Blink and Warpath.
Blink is a recent addition to the X-Men universe, first appearing in Uncanny X-Men #317. Her mutant ability is teleportation, which should likely fill the vacancy of Nightcrawler, who reportedly will not appear in this film.
Meanwhile, Warpath is an even newer character, making his first appearance in Uncanny X-Men #475. The former X-Force and X-Corp. mutant's powers include superhuman strength, speed, agility, reflexes, durability, flight and senses. With the addition of Warpath, might we see his love interest Hepzibah in the sequel as well or are there enough mutants in the sequel?
Last night, Iron Man 3 held their red carpet premiere at El Capitan Theater in Hollywood. Many of Marvel's creative personalities were on hand including Avengers director Joss Whedon. As he made his way down the press line, naturally the conversation turned to Avengers 2 and where that film stood.
While Whedon probably answered that question several hundred times that night, he told live stream host Yahoo that, "I have finished a draft and I'm redoing it now. I think it's in really good shape. We're in a very good place."
Whedon also offered a tease at new characters who could be joining the sequel.
"I've got these two characters, two of my favorite from the comic book, a brother-sister act. They're in the movie."
Does this mean Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch will be appearing in the sequel or is Whedon just having a little fun with Marvel fans? We won't know for sure as Avengers 2 doesn't arrive in theaters until May 2015, but you can watch the interview below.
Finally, speaking of Iron Man 3, we've been hearing the word "Extremis" being associated with the movie and considering there's a lot of it in the three-quel, some movie-goers might be wondering what it is exactly.
While director Shane Black and his co-writer Drew Pearce do a great job at explaining what it is in the film, Disney has released a new featurette explaining the strength-enhancing invention.
OK, so that's the Cliff Notes version of what Extremis is. You'll get the complete explanation when you watch Iron Man 3 in theaters next week.
