Fanboy Fix: 'Prince of Persia', 'Iron Man 2' and J.J. Abrams' Secret Movie

New 'Prince of Persia' Footage

Did you all happen to catch the Video Game Awards on SpikeTV over the weekend? Well, if you didn't, then you'll want to check out this first look at Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. The film's star, Jake Gyllenhaal, was on hand to present a brand new look at the film, which, of course, is based on the popular line of video games.

In the Disney movie, due out on May 28, 2010, Gyllenhaal stars as a prince who teams up with a rival princess to help bring down an evil ruler from unleashing a deadly sandstorm that could destroy the universe. Oh, and there's also this little dagger that turns back time. Check out the footage below…

'Iron Man 2' Trailer and Viral Game

The brand new Iron Man 2 trailer premiered at Harry Knowles' BNAT over the weekend, but the rest of us should be able to see it with Avatar in theaters this Friday. From what I've been told, it's an extension of what we've already seen with some pretty cool up-close-and-personal shots of Iron Man and War Machine fighting together.

In addition to the new trailer, Paramount has been releasing clues to a new viral game online. Both clues online so far show newspaper clippings with words highlighted in the article headline. SuperheroHype debuted the first clue, and now Screen Rant has the second clue. Feel free to start decoding…now!

Iron Man 2 hits theaters on May 7th.

Is J.J. Abrams Making a Secret Movie?

We already know J.J. Abrams is hard at work piecing together both Star Trek 2 and Mission Impossible 4, though there's a very good chance he'll only be producing both of those films. So if that is indeed the case, then what will the guy direct next? Well, buried at the bottom of a New York Times article is word from Paramount chairman Brad Grey that Abrams may direct another tentpole (i.e.: blockbuster) film for the studio before either of these movies get underway, and it's one that hasn't been announced yet. While we have no idea what film this could be, chances are it will carry some sort of supernatural element, and most likely be a straight up genre flick. Is there another franchise that Abrams will resurrect? Or what about a remake of an older movie? Since Hollywood very rarely takes chances on original material for their tentpole movies these days, I'm real curious to see which property Abrams will be reviving this time around.

What would you like to see the guy direct?
