Fanboy Fix: New ‘Captain America’ Pics, ‘The Avengers,' Plus New Batman Script Will Blow Your Mind
Ahead of its first trailer due out this Sunday during the Super Bowl, a few more images from Captain America: The First Avenger have appeared online. The images come to us courtesy of Empire, and they feature Chris Evans in a variety of heroic poses. We also get a nice look at Hayley Atwell with a gun, as well as Evans (and his bulging muscles) putting the scare in the character Heinz Kruger (no relation to Heinz ketchup).
Check out two images in this post and the rest over here.
Samuel L. Jackson Talks The Avengers, Plus More Cameos
While on the Jimmy Fallon show last night, Samuel L. Jackson spilled the beans by admitting that he’s filming cameos on both Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger. He has no idea whether his cameo will appear in the after-credits sequence of each film, but he does know that he’ll be asking both characters to join The Avengers.
He also said that he’s about to begin screen testing with actresses for an as-yet-unknown role that he describes as his assistant who follows him around the whole film. THR followed that up by producing a list of actresses who they’ll be looking at – including V star Morena Baccari, Jessica Lucas, Cobie Smulders and Mary Elizabeth Winstead, the latter of whom starred in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. They claim Marvel is looking to lock a lady up for a 9-picture deal, so we expect this role is a little more important than just some random secretary.
The Dark Knight Rises DP Says Script “Will Blow Your Mind”
Speaking to the Kevin and Josh Movie Show recently (via First Showing), The Dark Knight Rises cinematographer Wally Pfister had this to say about the script for what has to be every geek’s most anticipated film of 2012.
"I asked the same question. I read the script two weeks ago, and he's done it. Plain and simple -- he's done it. It's a phenomenal script. He's still in the process of cutting it back because it's a very long script right now, but it's really phenomenal. And he actually had me go back and wanted me to watch, in IMAX, 'Batman Begins' and 'The Dark Knight' again. When I watched those I had read the script for 'The Dark Knight Rises' and was like, 'Dude, it is a perfect trilogy.' I think that was his intent, to work off those two pictures -- and they are very different pictures. And it's funny, we all had different opinions about which picture we like better."
He added, "Our goal is to shoot as much in IMAX as we can. We're going to put in on the screen, and put it on the screen big. And I really encourage everyone to see it in IMAX if they can because we're really going for it this time. In terms of the action, we are all scratching our heads right now trying to figure out how we're going to do it, how we're going to do it in the amount of time we're going to do it in. The opening scene of the movie will blow your mind."
Tell me that doesn’t get you excited …
