Fanboy Fix: Green Lantern, The Hobbit and X-Men: First Class

More 'Green Lantern' Photos

Oh, you didn't think yesterday's cover shot was all you were gonna get, did you? A new crop of photos have now arrived online showing off more of the cast, like Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds together, as well as Tim Robbins, Angela Bassett and Peter Sarsgaard.

In the film, Sarsgaard plays Hector Hammond, a research worker who lives in the shadow of his former astronaut, now-Senator father (Robbins). Hammond obtains his own set of superpowers after examining the dead body of an alien named Abin Sur, who, in the comics, was the one to give Hal Jordan (Reynolds) his powers in the first place.
Bilbo Baggins Cast in 'The Hobbit'?
While we await final word on whether Peter Jackson is going to take over as director on The Hobbit, rumor has it he's been secretly traveling the globe to meet with actors and try to finish up casting the much-anticipated prequel to The Lord of the Rings. Word from Bleeding Cool is that Dr. Who star Sylvester McCoy has been cast as Bilbo Baggins in the film. McCoy was up for the role in the original LotR films as well, but lost out to Ian Holm.
Nothing official has been announced – and McCoy certainly isn't a huge recognizable name – but he makes sense and looks the part, so we'll see what happens. The first Hobbit film is tentatively due in theaters in December 2012.
'X-Men: First Class' Adds More Mutants
Jennifer LawrenceHave you lost track of all the new faces in the next X-Men film yet? Good, because we've got two more for ya. It's just been announced that Kevin Bacon and Jennifer Lawrence have officially joined the film. Bacon will be playing a villain, though we don't know which one (some say Mr. Sinister), while the up-and-coming Lawrence will be playing Mystique.
For those keeping tabs at home, that's Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Caleb Landry Jones as Banshee, Lucas Till as Havoc, Alice Eve as Emma Frost, James McAvoy as Xavier and Michael Fassbender as Magneto. The part of Mystique was originally played by Rebecca Romijn in the earlier X-Men films.
What do you think – is this a good cast or what?
