Fanboy Fix: Captain America, 'Thor' and 'Iron Man 2'

Captain America Adds a Sidekick

Sebastian Stan

Now that Chris Evans has officially signed on to play Captain America, it's time to start filling in the roles surrounding him. Heat Vision reports that newcomer Sebastian Stan (who you may recognize from Hot Tub Time Machine) will play Captain America's sidekick, Bucky Barnes, who travels alongside the good Captain on some missions fightin' Nazis until he's killed in the duo's final World War II mission.

In the comics, however, Barnes was brought back to life as a covert assassin named Winter Soldier, but it's not clear whether that's what will happen in the movie, though Barnes is signed on for five or six films. Thus, look for his character to play some role in the formation of the Avengers, as there's a good chance he'll be hanging around past this first Captain America flick, looking to cause more damage.

Kenneth Branagh Talks 'Thor'

While Captain America is casting, Thor is currently in production and director Kenneth Branagh had a few things to say to Hero Complex about the secretive film. Thor will come at a time where fighting amongst Gods is a hot theme on the big screen (see Percy Jackson and Clash of the Titans), so it should fit in well with the mood of the times. Whether it will be as successful as Iron Man, that's a whole different story.

Says Branagh (who wouldn't reveal too much about the hotly-anticipated superhero film), "What's surprising and delighting me is the way the cast, the ensemble, has fused together. It's kind of an interesting combination of very young and very experienced people and the double-up of that, it seems to me, is there is a lot of fire in the movie. It doesn't take itself too seriously, it doesn't try to be too solemn…I'm proud to say that Thor has been one of the great experiences of my career."

'Iron Man 2' Launches a Website, Reveals More Images

Yesterday director Jon Favreau tweeted that Iron Man 2 was officially done and submitted to the studio, so now the marketing blitz can begin. We shared photos and videos with you yesterday, but now we have the film's official website, which includes trailers and a photo gallery, as well as promises of lots more groovy content. Check it out over here.

In addition to the new website, Coming Soon has revealed three brand new images from the film featuring Iron Man solo, Tony Stark with Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Stark with Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow). Check one out below, and the rest over at Coming Soon. Iron Man 2 hits theaters on May 7th.
