Fanboy Fix – New 'Thor' Trailer, 'Iron Man 3' Director and New 'Toy Story' Short Announced

Thor

 New 'Thor' Trailer Arrives Online

As the summer blockbuster season approaches, Marvel and Paramount are starting to push some more marketing materials out regarding their two big upcoming films: Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger. We've seen one trailer for Thor, and we've seen one for Captain America, but now Marvel has released a nice, long trailer for Thor, which will hit theaters first on May 6th.
This trailer gives you a lot more of everything: More character, more dialogue, more story and definitely more ass-kicking. We have Thor fighting multiple giant monsters – both away from earth and on earth – and we also have Kat Dennings making cutesy Facebook references. Some have criticized Denning's comic relief, but I actually like her a lot and think she's sharp enough to produce more than a few laughs along the way. Check it out below and let us know what you think.

Shane Black to Direct 'Iron Man 3'
Last week there was a rumor that Lethal Weapon writer Shane Black was up for the writer-director job on Iron Man 3, and now comes confirmation from Deadline that he's in final negotiations to direct the Iron Man sequel. No word yet on whether he'll also write the script, though considering the guy made his name on writing a slew of fantastic scripts (The Last Boy Scout, The Monster Squad, Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang, to name a few), you'd think the powers that be would want him to contribute in some way, shape or form to the screenplay.
Either way, fans are definitely happy because Black is a smart, original filmmaker who knows his way around character and dialogue, and should give Downey Jr. plenty of great stuff to work with. Iron Man 3 is currently scheduled to hit theaters on May 3rd, 2013.
New Toy Story Short Premiering with 'The Muppets'
We've already told you how Pixar is bringing back the Toy Story characters for a short film that will play before Cars 2 in June and follow Ken and Barbie as they attempt to plan a Hawaiian vacation. Well now there's word of a second Toy Story short that will apparently screen before The Muppets in November, making it (we think) the first Pixar short to screen before a non-Pixar movie.
No word on what the short will be about (the announcement apparently came during an call among Disney investors), but just knowing that we'll get the Toy Story toys followed by a brand new Muppets movie is probably the greatest news of the day. Agree? Disagree?
