Exclusive: Miles Teller Confirms 'Fantastic Four' Talks, Admits 'Divergent' Sequel May Get in the Way

It already has a release date of March 6, 2015, but Josh Trank's Fantastic Four reboot is still trying to secure its cast of superheroes. Rumors suggest the studio is interested in casting young talent for the Chronicle director's follow-up, with folks like Miles Teller, Kit Harrington, Jack O'Connell, Michael B. Jordan, Saoirse Ronan and Kate Mara all said to be on a short list of actors wanted for various roles. With production apparently beginning early next year, we expect to hear official word real soon, but till then we've got the next best thing: Miles Teller himself pretty much confirming that he's up for a role in the Fantastic Four reboot, but whether or not he does it might depend on his schedule for the next Divergent movie, Insurgent.

While attending this year's Savannah Film Festival, we asked Teller what we was doing next. "Right now I'm kind of hanging out. I don't have anything that I'm doing until probably January or February. I don't know 100%. Obviously Insurgent, the next Divergent film... I think they are going to start the second one in April." And about the Fantastic Four? "Uh, you know, I don't know," Teller told us. "If that happens, if everything works out, then I will be pretty pumped. But then I'll also be working for... it's like seven months out of your year. Which is not a bad problem."

Judging from what he told us, it seems he's definitely hoping to make Fantastic Four work, where rumors pegged him as being up for the role of Reed Richards, aka Mr. Fantastic. But can he do both? More importantly, does he have the time to do both? Even more importantly, do you want him to do both?

The Fantastic Four is due in theaters on March 6, 2015. Meanwhile, Divergent arrives on screens on March 21, 2014. Currently there's no confirmed release date for Insurgent, which, according to Teller, begins production in April.
