'Eclipse' Begins Shooting While Twi-Con Goes on Tour

While all you Twi-hards feverishly count down the seconds until New Moon hits theaters on November 20th, the next installment in The Twilight Saga has already started production. Yup, Eclipse, to be directed by the pretty fantastic David Slade (Hard Candy, 30 Days of Night), has officially commenced shooting in Vancouver – perhaps in time for them to include a teaser for the film in front of New Moon?

Late additions to the cast – which already includes newcomers Xavier Samuel (Riley), Bryce Dallas Howard (Victoria), Jack Huston (Royce King II) and Jodelle Ferland (Bree) – have come in the form of Julia Jones (Leah) and BooBoo Stewart (Seth). All of these folks will join Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and Ashley Greene. Eclipse is set to arrive in theaters on June 30, 2010.
In other Twilight news, The Hollywood Reporter tells us that those ultra hip Twilight conventions (dubbed Twi-Con) are going on tour, with Summit Entertainment teaming up with Creation Entertainment to bring the awesomeness that is dangerous vampire romance to a town near you. The tour will begin at the Hilton Parsippany Hotel in Parsippany, New Jersey on August 28, and continue on to cities like Chicago; Miami; Seattle; Nashville; San Francisco; Atlanta; Los Angeles; Charlotte, N.C.; Minneapolis; Phoenix; Boston; Toronto; and Portland, Ore.
According to THR, some of the stuff you should expect at these conventions are "on-stage appearances by Twilight celebrities, screenings of exclusive footage, panel discussions, parties, musical performances, costume and trivia competitions, auctions, autographing, merchandising and photo opportunities." Sounds like a rad time … just make sure to leave the garlic, stake and holy water at home.
