Dwayne Johnson Will Flex His Muscles as 'Hercules,' Brett Ratner to Direct

Dwayne Johnson has locked in yet another movie to his packed schedule of films. Currently filming Fast and the Furious 6, Johnson has five movies waiting in the wings in pre-production, and today, Deadline reports that Johnson has signed on to play Hercules.

The film will be a co-production between Paramount Pictures and MGM and will be directed by Bret Ratner. Ratner will also serve as co-producer on the action film that is to be adapted from Radical Studios' graphic novel Hercules: The Thracian Wars.

Production is slated for early 2013, so we should probably expect this film to hit theaters in early 2014 or perhaps even summer 2014, depending on what kind of buzz the film generates.
