'Dracula Untold' Trailer: Watch Luke Evans Take Dracula to the Battlefield

Bram Stoker’s Dracula is one of the most enduring works of horror literature ever created, and it’s been the basis for several films over the years. While the vampire tale is incredibly familiar, Gary Shore is looking to take things in a new direction with Dracula Untold. You can check out the first trailer below and see if this new take gets your blood flowing.

Taking a page from Francis Ford Coppola’s 1992 film, Dracula Untold manages to tie the iconic vampire character to his real-life inspiration, Vlad Tepes, aka Vlad the Impaler. Luke Evans stars as the historical Dracula, who starts out as a good guy, but finds himself on the wrong side of the line between good and evil when he makes a deal with the Devil (played by Game of Thrones’ very own Tywin Lannister, Charles Dance) and becomes a vampire.

The clip sort of looks like Dracula merged with something like 300. Evans does the whole tortured-soul thing well, and the action looks pretty sweet. Will Dracula Untold be crowned King of the Vampire Flicks when it takes a bite out of theaters on October 17?
