With less than 48 hours before the Oscar nominations are revealed, the DGA announced their list of nominees this morning, giving us a better idea of who might make it onto the final Oscar ballot.
The five nominees singled out by the DGA are Ben Affleck for Argo, Kathryn Bigelow for Zero Dark Thirty, Tom Hooper for Les Miserables, Ang Lee for Life of Pi and Steven Spielberg for Lincoln.
Noticeably snubbed from that list are two Weinstein movies - Quentin Tarantino for Django Unchained and David O. Russell for Silver Linings Playbook.
Perhaps as an indirect reaction to the lack of recognition from the DGA, the Weinstein Company has decided to expand Silver Linings Playbook for a post-Oscar nomination run. The film is sure to notch a handful of nominations in a number of categories, but the question mark still remains in the directing category.
Do you agree with the DGA's selections? Would you swap in Tarantino or Russell for any of the five nominees?
