The fans have spoken and Mr. Wayne will look to recoup this week following a 57-46 loss to Wonder Woman. Contingency plans aside, it looks like there were more fans on Team Diana (WB might want to get serious about that Wonder Woman movie they've been putting off) than The Caped Crusader could fight off.
You can pretty much guess who the Dark Knight will face-off against next week in our final Dark Knight Showdown (think Krypton), but before we get there, he'll face the shape-shifting superhero, The Martian Manhunter.
So let's run through The Martian Manhunter's abilities. His superpowers have been inconsistently portrayed since his debut in Detective Comics #225, but his core powers are similar to Superman. He possesses superhuman strength, flight, "Martian Vision" allowing him the ability to see through solid objects and project beams of energy from his eyes. Superman once called him the most powerful being on the face of the Earth. (Probably cuz he doesn't double over at the site of Kryptonite).
The Martian Manhunter also possesses the power of shapeshifting, allowing him to adopt human and monstrous appearances, elongating his limbs, growing to immense size and altering the chemical composition of his body. He can also pass through solid objects and render himself invisible. He's a powerful telepath, capable of perceiving thoughts and projecting his own. Grab your Magneto helmet Batsy. Sorry, last time I'll call him Batsy.
As several fans have pointed out in the past couple Showdowns, Batman does indeed have a contingency plan for every member of the Justice League. The Martian Manhunter is no exception and he does have one glaring weakness – fire. Cue the Bat Flame Thrower!
Time to turn it over to you. Tell us who would win in a fight between these two Justice Leaguers and why. One comment per entrant and you must be 18 or older to participate. We'll randomly pick one winner who will receive a $50 collectible The Dark Knight Rises Fandango Bucks gift card. This contest runs until Sunday, July 8 at 11:59p.m. PST!
Can Batman roast The Martian Manhunter or will his mind be scrambled by the shape-shifting superhero?
