Daily Recap: It's Statham vs. Franco in Stallone-Scripted Action Flick 'Homefront,' 'Dark Knight Returns' in New Trailer

Statham vs. Franco. On paper, it doesn't sound like much of a contest. But the two will square off in Sylvester Stallone's action flick Homefront. The film, written by Stallone, finds Jason Statham as an ex-DEA agent who moves his family to a quiet town to escape his past. Unfortunately, that town is under the control of a ruthless meth kingpin named Gator (James Franco). Gary Fleder (Runaway Jury, The Express) will direct.

The Toronto Film Festival has announced Ken Burns' The Central Park Five, Martin McDonagh's Seven Psychopaths and horror flicks The ABC's of Death and Rob Zombie's The Lords of Salem will be among their Midnight Madness screenings. [Official Site]

Vince Vaughn is developing a Brady Bunch TV reboot for CBS. Raising Hope producer Mike Mariano will write the script. [Deadline]

IGN lists 25 things you probably didn't know about The Expendables.

Russell Brand is replacing Jim Carrey in director Larry Charles Pierre Pierre. The film follow "an obnoxious French nihilist" who is tasked with moving a priceless painting from Paris to London. [Slash Film]

Four new pics from 2 Days in New York have landed online. The film stars Chris Rock and Julie Delpy, who also directs and opens August 10.

Check out four new pics from The Iceman which stars James Franco, Chris Evans, Michael Shannon, Winona Ryder and Ray Liotta. The film tells the true story of Richard Kuklinski, a notorious contract killer and family man and is aiming for a 2013 release.

Here's a new pic from Seven Psychopaths. The film follows a struggling screenwriter who inadvertently becomes entangled in the Los Angeles criminal underworld after his oddball friends kidnap a gangster's beloved Shih Tzu. Stars include Colin Farrell, Christopher Walken, Woody Harrelson, Abbie Cornish, Sam Rockwell and others. Psychopaths gets a limited release November 2.
