Daily Recap: First Look Guillermo Del Toro's 'Pacific Rim,' 'Hangover 3' Heads to Tijuana, Abbie Cornish as RoboCop's Wife & More

Australian actress Abbie Cornish (you might remember her as Sweet Pea from Sucker Punch or Bradley Cooper's love interest in Limitless) is in talks to star as Robocop's wife in the reboot being directed by Jose Padhilla. the film has already signed up Gary Oldman and Samuel L. Jackson to the cast, in addition to Joel Kinnaman in the title role. [Deadline]

Lindsay Lohan has been released from Santa Monica UCLA Hospital following a car crash this morning. The actress totaled a rented Porsche into the back of an 18-wheeler and was brought to the hospital as a precaution. She had no serious injuries. [TMZ]

War of the Buttons tells the story of two rival teen gangs of kids from neighboring French villages who engage in merciless play-war. The film is based on Louis Pergaud's 1912 novel La Guerre des Boutons and you can check out the new trailer below, complete with a swelling musical score and '80s movie trailer voice-over guy. The film gets a limited release July 18.

It's been well documented that World War Z starring Brad Pitt is going back for seven weeks of re-shoots. But who will be writing the re-shot scenes? Prometheus and LOST writer Damon Lindelof, that's who. [THR]

Resident Evil fans will be happy to hear that a new trailer for Resident Evil: Retribution will be revealed next Thursday, June 14. Franchise star Milla Jovovich will do a live Q&A at New York's Regal Union Square Cinemas. Fans can attend the event by logging in to the film's Facebook page and printing out an invitation.

Here's the first image from Guillermo del Toro's sci-fi action film, Pacific Rim. The film opens July 12, 2013 and hopefully we get some mind-blowing footage at SDCC next month.

Warner Bros. is busy planning movies. While they sort through the various DC Comics properties they're attempting to put up on the big screen, the studio is also looking to adapt The Guinness Book of World Records into an action-adventure movie. [Deadline]

Cary Fukunaga, the director behind Jane Eyre and Sin Nombre will co-write and direct a new adaptation of Stephen King's It. Unlike the original 1990 TV miniseries, this new version will be adapted into two films. [THR]

Remember those pics from the Iron Man 3 set that appeared a couple weeks ago that many thought was the Iron Patriot? Well, turns out, that's not the Iron Patriot. SlashFilm has the spoiler-ish answer on just who that character is.

While the documentary The Queen of Versailles has been edited in a way to attract reality TV junkies, the film, which follows a billionaire couple hit with a life-changing financial problems has gone over well with critics. The first trailer has landed and you can check it out when it gets a limited release July 20.

Here's the red band trailer for Freelancers, starring Robert DeNiro, Forest Whitaker and Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson. The film follows the son of a slain NYPD officer who joins the force and falls in with his father's former partner and a team of rogue cops. Freelancers will arrive in New York and Los Angeles theaters August 10 and release on Blu-Ray/DVD August 21.

Here's the new poster for the 3D re-release of Finding Nemo. The film swims back into theaters September 14.

Following the poster a day formula, here's the latest Japanese character poster for The Avengers. Today brings up Captain America. The film has grossed $1.376 billion going into this weekend and will open in Japan August 17.

The Wolfpack could be headed to Tijuana, following another crazy night in Vegas. "A lot of it will be shot in Los Angeles, but then they are going to do the crazy scenes in Las Vegas again and then one wild week in Tijuana," a source told Life & Style magazine regarding the shooting locations for The Hangover: Part III. Todd Phillips added, "We're going to surprise a lot of people with the final chapter we have planned. It will be a fitting conclusion to our three-part opera of mayhem, despair and bad decisions." Lionsgate has put the brakes on a Dirty Dancing reboot, but not entirely. Originally slated to hit theaters on July 23, 2013, the film has been pushed back to 2014 at the earliest. [ComingSoon]
