Daily Recap: 'Dark Knight Rises' TV Spots, 'Spiderman' Pics and First Look at Lindsay Lohan as Elizabeth Taylor & More

Anthony Hopkins is in talks to join the cast of Red 2 as the lead villain, a mad genius who is incorrectly presumed dead. Bruce Willis and his ex-CIA team would be tasked with searching for a weapon of mass destruction that Hopkins has created. Hopkins would join Catherine Zeta-Jones and Byung-Hun Lee as new additions to the franchise. [Variety]

Speaking of Red 2, here's the first official poster, as seen at Cannes:

Machete Kills star Danny Trejo let slip the latest bit of casting news in a recent interview. "We've got Sofia Vergara, who is a star in her own right, Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez and Zoe Saldana – and guess what? I get to kiss all of 'em." [MovieHole]

The Hunger Games sequel has its official title. From here on forward (or at least until it's shortened by fans), the sequel will be known as The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

Here are two new clips from On The Road starring Kristen Stewart, Sam Riley, Kirsten Dunst and Garret Hedlund. The film screened at Cannes last week.

More fallout from Paramount's decision yesterday to push back the release of G.I. Joe: Retaliation to March 2013. The initial spin was to add 3D conversion, but the general buzz was with Amazing Spider-Man releasing the weekend after and The Dark Knight Rises looming in mid-July, the sequel wouldn't be able to maximize its box office potential. Now it seems there's more than post-conversion going on, as Dwayne Johnson says new scenes are being crafted to enhance the 3D experience. [SlashFilm]

Despite the underwhelming domestic performance of Battleship, Universal is in talks to acquire the movie rights to Hero Factory, Lego's line of robotic toys. No director has been named, but Predators writers Michael Finch and Alex Litvak are already negotiating to write the script for the live-action feature. [SlashFilm]

With all retro properties ripe for adaptations, the latest classic film being targeted is the seminal '70s horror film The Exorcist. Martha Marcy May Marlene director Sean Durkin is set to adapt the film into  a ten-episode TV series. Durkin's version follows the events leading up to a demonic possession and especially the after-effects of how a family copes with it. [Vulture]

The latest trailer for Adam Sandler's That's My Boy features a bunch of new footage… of Vanilla Ice. The movie opens June 15.

So this is what Lindsay Lohan looks like as Elizabeth Taylor. On a side note, Grant Bowler has been cast to play Richard Burton in the Lifetime biopic Liz & Dick.

As if yesterday's buzz about Robert Pattinson possibly being in Catching Fire, sorry, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, the actor says he'll be starring in a movie about the rock group The Band. [ThePlaylist]

More new pics from The Amazing Spider-Man have surfaced including a good look at The Lizard and Emma Stone gazing at a hole in the wall.

While Tom Hardy wonders about when shooting for the Mad Max reboot, Mad Max: Fury Road will begin, Charlize Theron says cameras will start rolling (or recording if they're digital) next week. For those who are wondering, the film will reportedly feature a convoy of girls known as the "Five Wives" who are pursued by the villains. No word on who has been cast to portray those "Wives," but a slew of actresses from Teresa Palmer to Zoe Kravitz have been mentioned during the casting process.

French filmmaker Michel Gondry spoke at Cannes and among the many topics he addressed The Green Hornet and admitted that "fans didn't like my vision of the superhero." Seth Rogen playing a superhero might have had something to do with it as well. [ThePlaylist]

Kate Beckinsale stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show to talk about dancing (and grinding) in public, her daughter's accent and pranking her husband Len Wiseman. Oh and there's a super-short clip from Total Recall as well a clip of her daughter and friend acting out a fight scene on set.

Gary Oldman has signed on to the RoboCop reboot to play Norton, the scientist who creates Robocop and "finds himself torn between the ideals of the machine trying to rediscover its humanity and the callous needs of a corporation." [THR]
