Comic-Con 2012: A Complete Rundown of the Film Panels...What Do You Want to See Most?

We're less than 48 hours from the annual crush of humanity, entertainment and comics known as San Diego Comic-Con. Today, we bring you a look at the movies taking center stage this year. You can also check out our most anticipated events over on

We'll save the television and comic book/special interest panels for tomorrow. Today, it's all about film. Here's what's hitting Comic-Con this year…

Thursday, July 12: The Truth About The Hobbit , 10:15-11:15a.m., Room 6DE

While the actual Hobbit panel isn't until Saturday, the Hobbit/LOTR fansite returns to SDCC dispelling rumors, answering questions and presenting a special presentation on WETA's visual workshop. Panelists include Cliff Broadway and Larry D. Curtis.

Twilight: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, 12:45p.m.-1:45 p.m., Hall H

We're looking forward to this panel for two reasons: It'll be the last time we have to line-up waaaay earlier than normal for a Hall H panel and once this panel is done, we can stow away the ear plugs we use to block out the thousands of screaming, shrieking fans. Still, for Twilight fans, this will be a bittersweet panel. We're probably going to get some new footage and several marriage proposals lobbed at Pattinson and Lautner. If you're not camping out for this panel now, forget about it, you're probably not going to make it inside.

Disney Studios Panel, 2:05-3:05 p.m., Hall H

This is going to be a rapid-fire panel with three movies being showcased – Frankenweenie, Wreck-It Ralph and Oz: The Great and Powerful. The first two films have debuted trailers and posters, but Oz is just getting warmed up and we may see some footage from Sam Raimi's Wizard of Oz prequel as well as additional looks at Ralph and Weenie.

Hotel Transylvania, 3-4p.m., Indigo Ballroom

Animator Genndy Tartakovsky, who created Dexter's Laboratory and Star Wars: Clone Wars among other projects, will take you behind the scenes of helming his first feature length film.

The Expendables 2 – Real American Heroes, 4:45-5:45p.m., Hall H

Sylvester Stallone returns to Hall H with his Expendables cast to show off some footage and maybe even a trailer. Joining Sly will be Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Dolph Lundgren, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Arnold Schwarzenegger, who is sure to drop a few catch phrases during Q&A.

Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan's Hope, Ballroom 20, 8:30-10:30p.m.

The documentary has its SDCC premiere with a follow-up Q&A with director Morgan Spurlock and special surprise guests (which could mean Joss Whedon or Stan Lee drops by).

Friday, July 13:

ParaNorman, 10:45-11:45 a.m., Hall H

Focus Features kicks off the day in Hall H with their stop-motion animated movie ParaNorman. Cast members Kodi Smit-McPhee, Anna Kendrick, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Travis Knight, Chris Butler and Sam Fell will be on hand for Q&A as well as never-before-seen footage from the movie.

Resident Evil: Retribution, 4:05-4:35p.m., Hall H

The shortest movie panel goes to Screen Gems' Resident Evil: Retribution which will host a half hour Q&A session with cast members Milla Jovovich, Michelle Rodriguez, Oded Fehr, Boris Kodjoe, Mika Nakashima and director/writer Paul W.S. Anderson.

Matt Damon in Elysium

Sony – Total Recall, Looper, Elysium, 4:35-6:35 p.m., Hall H

We'll get more footage from Recall and Looper as well as the usual Q&A with the respective casts, but all eyes will be on Neil Blomkamp's Elysium starring Matt Damon and Jodie Foster. All three will participate in the panel which should give us a first look at some footage from the film.

Saturday, July 14:

Django Unchained, 11:30-12:30 p.m., Hall H

Quentin Tarantino returns to SDCC with the cast of Django Unchained. Join Jamie Foxx, Kerry Washington, Christoph Waltz, Walter Goggins and Tarantino (sorry, no Leo, at least, we think no Leo) as they offer up exclusive footage from their upcoming film.

Open Road Films: End of Watch and Silent Hill: Revelation 3D, 12:45-1:45 p.m., Hall H

Open Road offers up new footage from the Jake Gyllenhaal/Michael Pena cop drama End of Watch along with first look footage from their upcoming Silent Hill threequel. Gyllenhaal and Pena will be attendance for the End of Watch panel while various cast and crew will be on hand for the Silent Hill Q&A.

Warner Bros and Legendary Films: Pacific Rim, Man of Steel and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, 2:30-5 p.m., Hall H

WB goes super-size this year with a two and half hour panel touting first look footage from Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim and Zack Snyder's Superman reboot Man of Steel. Additionally, Peter Jackson brings The Hobbit to SDCC with new footage. Each film will include Q&A with cast and crew.

Marvel: Iron Man 3, 6-7 p.m., Hall H

Producer Kevin Feige and "special guests" will offer an inside look at the expanding Marvel movie universe. We know Iron Man 3 will be one of the films highlighted and we'll finally get confirmation on whether Guardians of the Galaxy is indeed the mystery 2014 Marvel movie everyone has been buzzing about over the past couple of weeks.

Now that you know which movies are being highlighted this year, here's your chance to weigh in. Tell us which movie panel your most anticipating and feel free to go into more detail in our comment section!
