Cine Latino: Watch Javier Bardem in Terrence Malick's 'To the Wonder' and Pedro Almodóvar's 'I'm So Excited' (Video)

Cine Latino covers, well, all things relating to Latino culture and the movies, now every Wednesday.

Written and directed by Terrence Malick, To the Wonder stars Ben Affleck, Rachel McAdams, Javier Bardem and Olga Kurylenko. The romantic drama centers on one man's tumultuous quest for true love. Bardem plays Father Quintana and from the trailer below it appears he's ready to dish out a lot of holy advice. When asked what was his initial reaction to the film Bardem jokingly said it was watching himself appear in the film.

"I was surprised when I saw myself in it," said Bardem to Indiewire. "When you work with Terrence Malick, you don't expect anything because you don't know what you're doing," said Bardem. "You just go there, show up and let yourself be guided by him to the wonder of things that may happen or not happen -- and you may not even make it to the final cut. I'm deeply proud of being in one of his movies."

Check out the latest trailer of To the Wonder. Oh and that sultry voice narrating is courtesy of Bardem.

Pedro Almodovar's I'm So Excited

It was only a matter of time until Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar brought together his two biggest muses, Penelope Cruz and Antonio Banderas. The dynamic duo will help bring to life Almodóvar's latest comedic attempt I'm So Excited, a throwback to his laugh-out-loud movies from the 90's like Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down! An official synopsis hasn't been revealed but rumor has it the A-list ensemble, which also includes Paz Vega, Blanca Suarez, Lola Dueñas and Hugo Silva, will play a group of oddballs about to experience impending disaster.

Day of the Falcon with Antonio Banderas

Speaking of Banderas, he has another film coming out in a few months called Day of the Falcon, aka Black Gold, with Mark Strong and Freida Pinto. The story centers around two Arab kingdoms battling for control over oil fields. Check out the trailer below.
