Who's the Best Latina Actress in Hollywood?
Our friends over at Fandango Cine are currently running a poll asking who the best Latina actress in Hollywood is. Surprisingly, the vast majority of votes have gone to Sofia Vergara, and trailing right behind her is Salma Hayek. No offense to Vergara but what gives? She's relatively new to the Hollywood scene with just over 10 films to her name, all in which she's played supporting characters. Hayek on the other hand has a longstanding career with over 30 films under her belt.
Hayek, who had her breakout role in Robert Rodriguez's Desperado, is an Oscar nominee and her contributions to the film industry have definitely helped pave the way for younger stars like Jessica Alba, who currently ranks third in the poll. I personally voted for Penelope Cruz, who's shockingly neck-to-neck with Eva Longoria for the fifth spot.
