'Cabin Fever: Patient Zero' Contains the Horror

Cabin Fever: Patient Zero

In a deadly new clip from Cabin Fever: Patient Zero -- opening in select theaters on Friday, August 1 -- an apparently infected patient (the great Sean Astin) is contained in a special cell. But it's not very long before "Patient Zero" starts sharing what he's got, and the body count begins rising.

The third installment in a series that began in 2002, Cabin Fever: Patient Zero is well-timed for summer getaways, following a group of friends who have planned "the perfect vacation" in the Caribbean. An ill-advised visit to a remote island finds them swimming in water they don't realize is contaminated, followed by an unwise exploration of a research facility that leads to explosure to a flesh-eating virus. See, kids? Sometimes it's better to take a "staycation" and watch movies all day.

Ryan Donowho, Brando Eaton, Jillian Murray, Mitch Ryan, Lydia Hearst and Currie Graham star alongside Astin. Kaare Andrews directed; he made a mark on horror fans with his contribution to the horror anthology The ABCs of Death. The director has also worked as a writer and artist for Marvel Comics.
