Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Olsen in Talks for 'Godzilla'

Bryan Cranston, Elizabeth Olsen in Talks for 'Godzilla'

Walter White versus Godzilla?

It could happen as Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston is currently in negotiations to join the cast of the Gareth Edwards-helmed reboot. THR reports that Cranston would play Aaron Johnson's stepfather. There's still no word on whether Johnson will join the film in the lead role. The Kick-Ass actor was mentioned as being in talks for the part last month.

As Breaking Bad enters its final season Cranston's schedule will open up, allowing him to add more film projects to his calendar (as if he wasn't busy already). Cranston was able to squeeze in appearances in Red Tails, John Carter, Rock of Ages, Argo and Total Recall last year, along with a supporting voice role in Madagascar 3 and guest spots on television shows Archer, 30 Rock, The Cleveland Show and The Simpsons along with his award-winning lead role in AMC's Breaking Bad.

Variety reports that breakout actress Elizabeth Olsen is also in talks to join the film, which is currently awaiting Frank Darabont's script revisions.

Following a string of indie hits, Olsen has been seeking a blockbuster franchise film. Paramount has considered her for a role in the Michael Bay produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot. She was also one of several actresses who auditioned for the female lead in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. (Revenge star Emily VanCamp eventually got the role.)

Godzilla is slated to arrive in theaters May 16, 2014.

Would you cast Cranston and/or Olsen in the film?
