British Actor Pete Postlethwaite, 64, Dies

Pete PostlethwaiteUnfortunately the New Year has already brought with it the death of another beloved actor. British thesp Pete Postlethwaite has passed away at the age of 64 following a long illness. The character actor has appeared in a number of fantastic films, turning out one memorable performance after the other. In 2010 alone he appeared in three major films -- Clash of the Titans, Inception and The Town (best performance of the three, in my opinion) – not to mention also co-starring in other great movies like In the Name of the Father (in which he was nominated for an Oscar), The Usual Suspects, Romeo + Juliet and The Lost World: Jurassic Park.

Steven Spielberg once called him "The best actor in the world," and the world of film will surely feel a bit emptier without him popping up to steal scenes. Let us know your favorite Postlewaite performance in the comments section below…
