Box Office: Who Will Win the Weekend?

Will Avatar take the top spot for another weekend, or will some dude with wings finally kick all those blue aliens to the curb? Yes, we're back again to predict which film will win the box office, and while it's been all Avatar for the past month, this weekend could finally see a break in the pattern. Let's take a look:

Tooth Fairy and Legion

What's the Scoop: Dwayne Johnson plays a professional hockey player whose one bad deed leads to a sentence as a tooth fairy for one week.
Why It Might Win the Weekend: If any movie will beat Avatar, it's this one – what with its family-friendly vibes, aggressive marketing campaign and comical images of Johnson dressed like a fairy.

What's the Scoop: God sends a legion of angels to bring on the apocalypse after he loses faith in humanity, and it's up to some folks holed up in a diner with the archangel Michael to save…the world?
Why It Might Win the Weekend: It sure as hell looks freaky enough to attract the teens looking for some wacky scares and creepy special effects. A pretty decent ensemble cast may also draw in those searching for more jumps than laughs.

What's the Scoop: Brendan Fraser plays a guy who's searching for a cure for a rare genetic disorder that his children have, while Harrison Ford returns to the big screen as a doctor who may be able to help.
Why It Might Win the Weekend: Ford is always a big draw, and the film's heartwarming themes may appeal to families across the country.

My Prediction: As much as every part of me wants to just go with Avatar, I feel like Tooth Fairy may be the film that finally beats it. So, yeah, Tooth Fairy for the win!
