Best New Trailers and Clips: 'The Purge: Anarchy' and More

The Purge: Anarchy

Let's start our roundup of the latest and best new horror videos with two clips from The Purge: Anarchy, which opens in theaters on July 18. The sequel to last summer's surprise box office hit, which was set in a gated community, takes to the streets to see what happens during the annual "Purge," when all criminal behavior is legal for 12 hours.

The first clip suggests that someone may be conducting a "personal Purge."

Frank Grillo is featured in the second clip, as he prepares to leave behind four strangers to fend for themselves on the most dangerous night of the year.

The Possession of Michael King

Shane Johnson stars as a filmmaker (and father of a young daughter) who decides to make a documentary about the search for the supernatural, with himself as the subject. As the trailer shows, he's a bit more successful than he could ever have imagined. The movie opens in select theaters on August 22. [Dread Central]

The Last Showing

The subject of this thriller is very timely for film buffs. Horror icon Robert Englund plays a theater projectionist facing the loss of his job due to advances in technology and changes in audience tastes, prompting him to take revenge, trapping a young couple in his diabolical plot. The movie will debut at Film4 FrightFest in London on August 22. [Bloody Disgusting]

The Expedition

Did you like The Blair Witch Project? How about Jurassic Park? Great! Now how about mixing the two together for dinosaur horror, found-footage style? Ben Loyd-Holmes (Skyfall) toplines this thriller set in the Amazon forest; the movie doesn't have a release date yet. [Arrow in the Head]
