Ben Stiller Hopes a Skateboard Can Save Him in First 'Secret Life of Walter Mitty' Photo

Hollywood’s top comedic minds often gravitate toward family fare, be it Eddie Murphy, Jim Carrey or Ben Stiller. The latter – who has fueled a series of Madagascar and Night at the Museum films – has another kid-friendly comedy coming to theaters in December, and we’re starting to see a few marketing materials courtesy of 20th Century Fox.

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty stars Stiller as the title character, a mild-mannered magazine photo editor who frequently escapes the doldrums of his life by daydreaming. The film is an adaptation of James Thurber’s classic short story that was also made into a 1947 movie starring Danny Kaye.

Fox shared this first image of Stiller in character. The buzz on the movie says that we’ll see a trailer soon.

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty co-stars Kristen Wiig, Adam Scott, Patton Oswalt, Kathryn Hahn and Shirley MacLaine. Stiller also directs, the first film he’ll helm since 2008’s Tropic Thunder. Keep your eyes peeled for the new trailer. The movie comes out Dec. 25.
