Ben Affleck to Play Batman in 'Man of Steel' Sequel

Ben Affleck to Play Batman in 'Man of Steel' Sequel

Put all the rumors and speculation behind you. Warner Bros. has chosen its next Batman – Ben Affleck!

The sequel to this summer's Man of Steel brings Batman and Superman (Henry Cavill) together on the big screen for the first time.

“Ben provides an interesting counterbalance to Henry’s Superman. He has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retain the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne. I can’t wait to work with him,"said director Zack Snyder.

Man of Steel stars Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane are also set to return for the sequel due in theaters July 17, 2015.

Affleck had been rumored earlier this year as a possible director for Warner Bros.' Justice League movie but ended up dismissing those rumors.

What do you think of the casting of Affleck as the next Batman? Are you excited to see him face off against Cavill in Batman/Superman
