Batman, Superman, Abraham Lincoln and Han Solo Cram into First Awesome 'The Lego Movie' Trailer

I don’t want to exaggerate… but the first full trailer for The Lego Movie makes it look like the best movie I’ve ever seen. Ever.

Parents know that Lego versions of every possible brand – from Indiana Jones and Star Wars to Harry Potter and The Avengers – have infiltrated our pop culture, and our homes. Which is why The Lego Movie is able to have Batman and Superman fighting alongside a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. It’s the ultimate mash-up movie, made for a generation that’s used to seeing Thor, Iron Man and Captain America in the same film.
It helps that codirectors Phil Lord and Chris Miller are at the helm. The duo worked on the original (and superior) Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, as well as on the 21 Jump Street reboot. They know comedy, and their sense of humor shines through in this lengthy Lego tease.
The film, as you can tell, centers around an ordinary Lego man (voiced by Chris Pratt) who learns he’s something special. But it’s all an excuse to have Lego heroes bounce through recognizable, stop-motion Lego creations.
And the sight of Will Arnett’s Batman throwing multiple Bat-arangs at targets makes me laugh until my sides hurt.
The Lego Movie will be in theaters on February 7, 2014. What do you think of the first trailer?
