'Avatar' Heading Back to Theaters -- Will You See It?

AvatarGuess who’s baaaaack? If you somehow haven’t managed to get your fill of James Cameron’s Avatar yet (what’s the matter with you – the thing has made like a trillion dollars!), then carve out some time around August 27th because 20th Century Fox is throwing that sucker back into theaters with eight extra minutes of footage. Eight minutes!

Interestingly enough, the film will only be available in either Digital 3D or IMAX 3D, so you’ll have to pay top dollar if you do want to see it again. And, honestly, I’m definitely going to see it again. Say what you want about the story, but Avatar was a thrilling movie to watch in 3D. I loved every minute of it; one of my favorite all-time moviegoing experiences, for sure. There’s no way to re-capture the theater experience on DVD, and to tell you the truth I’m kinda itching to watch it in 3D again -- I had that much fun the first time around.

So, yeah, go see it again. Not because of the extra eight minutes (seriously, if they were important, we would’ve seen them in the first cut), but because watching this film in 3D on the big screen is an experience that won’t be matched for awhile. 3D conversion. Psshhh. This is the real thing.

Who’s going to see Avatar when it’s re-released later this summer?
