Arnold Schwarzenegger Gets a Museum

Love him or hate him, one thing’s for sure: The Arnold Schwarzenegger machine rolls on. To commemorate his 64th birthday this past weekend, his hometown of Thal, Austria opened up, yup, you guessed it, the Arnold Schwarzenegger Museum.

Using the bodybuilder-turned-actor-turned-politician-turned-actor’s childhood home as the setting, childhood friend and museum director, Peter Urdl, has kept a lot of the furniture from Arnie’s childhood, including his steel pipe bed. The museum also features props from Arnold’s movies (mainly Terminator) amid the nostalgia. There’s even a re-creation of his office while he served his terms as governor of California.
Schwarzenegger couldn’t make it to the opening, but did deliver a video message filled with all the various movie catch phrases that won over the hearts of Californians back in 2003. He hopes to make it to the museum in the fall, where Urdl plans to host a re-opening celebration. Check out the video below, courtesy of ITN.
