Anthony Hopkins May Play Alfred Hitchcock

He's one of the most iconic (and secretive) filmmakers of all time, and it seems Hollywood is finally ready to tell his story. A few different Alfred Hitchcock biopics are in different stages of being planned right now, but it seems one is beginning to pull ahead and build up steam. Recently, director Sacha Gervasi (Anvil) was brought on to adapt the book, "Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho" into a full-length feature, and early buzz has it that Anthony Hopkins is interested in playing Hitchcock.

Anthony Hopkins and Alfred Hitchcock

In case you couldn't guess from the title of the book, the film will focus on the making of Psycho, and the relationship Hitchcock had with his wife, Elma. Hopkins is a great choice for an older Hitchcock, and we’re already anticipating hearing the actor’s take on Hitchcock’s low, wise voice.

The other Hitchcock production in the works tracks the filmmaker from an earlier age, and has Dan Folger attached to play him alongside folks like Emily Mortimer and Ben Kingsley.

Do you think Anthony Hopkins would make a great Alfred Hitchcock?
