Another Harry Potter Book in the Works – More Films Possible?

As we approach the end of the Harry Potter movie franchise with a two-part finale on the big screen, author J.K. Rowling still seems to be interested in bringing these characters back in some way, shape or form. The catch is…we may not see another Harry Potter-related adventure for about ten years. Yes, hold onto your wands Potter fans, because for now it appears Rowling has retired the character (and that world) until a later date.

Harry Potter

When pressed to answer questions regarding the future of the Potter series, Rowling admitted that she may return to the boy wizard "ten years from now" depending on how she feels. In the meantime, though, she doesn't plan for any spin-off novels, so don't expect any more cinematic adventures either unless Warner Bros. (and her legions of fans) can convince her otherwise.

But while we won't be seeing any more Potter in the immediate future, Rowling did promise that she will be writing more books, saying "I'm quite sure in the not-too-distant future I will bring out another book." No word on what that book (or books) will be about – whether it will be a whole new fantasy franchise or just a one-off story – but either way something tells me fans will be clinging on to all of Rowling's little hints in the hopes of learning what the Potter author has up her magic sleeve next.

Do you want to read more J.K. Rowling books even if they aren't Harry Potter related?
