Anime ‘Iron Men’ and ‘Wolverine’ Get U.S. Premiere Dates

Marvel has teamed up with G4 to bring the anime versions of Iron Man and Wolverine over to the U.S. The two series already hit the small screens in Japan back in January, with 12 half-hour weekly episodes that include interconnecting storylines and cameo appearances from some of Marvel’s other popular superheroes.

Iron Man will premiere July 29 at 11 p.m. ET/PT and will be followed by Wolverine at 11:30 p.m. ET/PT. Two other popular Marvel anime series – X-Men and Blade - will premiere later this year on G4.
In the Iron Man anime, Tony Stark travels to Japan to build a new arc reactor that will deliver unlimited free energy to the Japanese people. Stark is challenged though by the government and media when he attempts to import a necessary nuclear priming device. The reactor is attacked repeatedly by the mysterious Zodiac consortium, leading Stark to gather his allies and take on Zodiac and its mastermind.
Wolverine begins with Mariko, the love of Logan’s life, being forced back to Japan by her crime-lord father, Shingen. Logan vows to get her back at any cost and plunges into a chaotic world of corruption and violence, forcing him to team up with a young assassin, Yukio. The pair battle their way through the Japanese criminal underworld.
The two series are being produced by legendary anime company Madhouse in conjunction with Marvel and Sony Pictures. Check out the trailers and opening sequences below as well as a look at the X-Men anime due in America later this year. What do you think? Like it? Hate it? Sound off below.
