This Friday, Battle of the Year 3D hip-hops onto the silver screen, ready to blow audiences away with seemingly impossible dancing feats. Starring Chris Brown and Josh Holloway (Lost), will Battle of the Year hold its own against Step Up, Honey and Bring It On? Let’s face it, if Chris Brown is taking off his shirt while bustin’ a move, we can bet that Battle of the Year will land squarely on its feet.
One of the hands-down sexiest dance moments in movie history shows Jennifer Beals becoming an absolute maniac on the floor. Her powerful dance moves highlighted in a solo dance performance became iconic in the dance-film genre.
Admit it, you love Kevin Bacon… and this dance scene in a warehouse is one of the main reasons why. So much passion, so much anger, so many dramatic flashbacks, so much dancing Kevin Bacon.
Dirty Dancing (1987)
There’s no denying it: the final dance in Dirty Dancing is hot as hell, even if it is the most “wholesome” on our list. Just seeing Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey in their prime is enough to win over the harshest judges.
Save the Last Dance (2001)
Remember, hip-hop dance is as much about attitude as it is about dance moves… and when your dance coach is Sean Patrick Thomas, you get all that and more.
Bring It On (2000)
Okay, so cheerleading is basically dancing with some peppy shouts thrown in the mix… so we’re throwing it in ours. There’s no denying this cheerleading comedy had all the right moves to tumble and clap its way onto our list of favorite dance flicks.
Step Up (2006)
Channing Tatum is literally so hot that no matter how terrible the movie, as long as he's dancing in it we’d still rank it on our list. Fortunately for all involved, the dance moves look just as good as Mr. Tatum.
Jessica Alba is widely considered to be one of the hottest women on the planet, so seeing her rock dance moves in Honey clearly makes the list as she reminds us that it does not matter how you fall so long as you keep counting… and continue looking good.
Magic Mike (2012)
As we previously stated, Channing Tatum is literally so hot that no matter how terrible the movie… OK, OK, you get it. Well, all you really need to know about this dance film is that Mr. Tatum is playing an exotic dancer in a male strip club. Need I say more?
