5 'Breaking Dawn' Scenes you Absolutely Have to See on the Big Screen

Oh, Twi-hards … you are in for a treat.

Bill Condon delivers the fitting conclusion you deserve with Breaking Dawn Part 2, a satisfying end to The Twilight Saga that’s campy, corny, sentimental and gory. Yes, gory. This is a vampire-and-werewolf franchise, after all. Heads are going to roll (right after they are torn off their bodies).

Twilight fans certainly don’t need excuses to see the second Breaking Dawn on the big screen. Most of you purchased tickets here weeks ago. Many even are gearing up for the The Twilight Saga Marathon, which will screen every Twilight movie leading up to Breaking Dawn

But now that we’ve seen the final Twilight, here are the five sequences that fans absolutely need to see on the big screen. They’re glorious. And I’ll try to keep my descriptions spoiler-free, even though most have read the book. Look out for them when you’re finally able to see The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 in theaters on Friday, Nov. 16.

Bella’s Hunt
Needing to quench her thirst for blood, Bella scales a rock wall, leaps from a mountain, and tackles a cougar. Phenomenal.

Renesmee Catches Snowflakes
We know that young vampires can pogo through the air like trapeze artists with springs tied to their shoes. But when adolescent Renesmee leaps to the heavens to catch falling snowflakes, she catches someone else’s eye, leading to big problems for Bella and Edward.

Jacob’s Strip Show
Based on the reactions in my mostly-female preview audience, the moment when Jacob reveals himself to be a werewolf to a non-believer (I won’t tell you who) is a big hit.

Alice’s Roundhouse Kick
Condon’s movie, from what I’m being told, differentiates from Stephenie Meyer’s novel in its third act. Namely, there’s a big battle. I don’t think that’s a spoiler. It’s featured in the trailer. And it drove our preview audience CRAZY! But it all kicks off with Alice’s roundhouse kick to … well, I won’t tell you. But you’ll love it.

The Crack in the Earth
Honestly, the majority of the special effects in Breaking Dawn Part 2 are as hokey as they have been in previous Twilight movies. Condon realizes that the bar has been set at a relatively low spot, and he plays to it. But the crack that forms in the earth during the key battle does not look phony. It looks terrifying … particularly when you learn which characters are swallowed up in the chasm!

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 opens everywhere on Friday, Nov. 16.
