2011 Black List Unveiled, Includes Tarantino's 'Django,' Apollo 11 Re-Imagining, Chewbacca Satire and Zombies

A screenplay titled The Imitation Game, about World War II cryptographer Alan Turing, who cracked the German Enigma code and later committed suicide after being criminally prosecuted for being a homosexual, tops the 2011 Black List.

For the uninitiated, the Black List is a compilation of screenplays that will not be released in theaters during the calendar year that are ranked by several hundred studio executives. The list began in 2004 by film executive Franklin Leonard to help shed light on scripts that would otherwise fall by the Hollywood wayside.
Among the scripts that were named to the Black List last year include The Hunger Games, Safe House, Margin Call, Snow White and the Huntsman and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. You can view that full list here.
Some other notable scripts that made the list include Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained, the Grace Kelly biopic, Grace of Monaco, the Pinocchio origins story The Three Misfortunes of Geppetto and the rom-com Sex Tape which was rumored to have Reese Witherspoon and Jason Segel as co-stars.
Below are the top 10 most-liked scripts by studio execs, which have a pretty good shot at getting made. Of the top 10 movies from last year's list, only two didn't make it to the production phase. Yet.
You can view the full 2011 Black List here, courtesy of the LA Times. Do any of these movies sound interesting?
