10 Things to Check Out Before 'The Hobbit' Tickets Go On Sale Tomorrow

The big day is almost here! Tickets for The Hobbit in all its various formats as well as the special Lord of the Rings Trilogy Marathon will be on sale tomorrow morning beginning at 9 a.m. PST! But before you grab your opening weekend tickets, here's a few Hobbit related items that should help tide you over until the December 14 release.

Purchase and play the new Hobbit Monopoly which went on sale last month. And while you're playing, wrap yourself up in this Hobbit quilt and munch on some Hobbit themed cakes (perhaps not quite as elaborate as this one.)

If you really want to get into The Hobbit mood, throw on this recently released score track by Howard Shore from the film:

If that's not enough Hobbit stuff to tide you over, order a replica of the One Ring and a Gandalf Keepsake Ornament, scroll through a visual history of Bilbo Baggins and check out this time lapse of Middle Earth:

Also, check out this Mordor Recruitment Video…

… and the recently released Air New Zealand safety video which takes on a decidedly Hobbit theme.

There's plenty more Hobbit tidbits out there to help you pass the time, including the official J.R.R. Tolkein Fansite, TheOneRing.Net.

Tickets will be on sale for the following formats: 35mm, 3D, IMAX, IMAX 3D, High-Frame Rate (48 FPS) and High-Frame Rate IMAX 3D.

Let the countdown begin!
