    Great gore, but little else.

    by r.m.parker

Mother of Tears starts out strong, but the plot falls to pieces. The gore is fantastic, and several scenes will stick with me, but all in all it was ho-hum. A must see for Argento fans, but an easy pass for anyone else. Re-rent Suspiria instead.

I left before it was over...

The worst movie I have ever seen.

Mater Suspiriorum, Mater Tenaebrarum, Mater Lachrymarum

    by Horror_Scoper

La Terza Madre finally makes her big screen appearance. Yes, we saw her briefly in Inferno but that was only for a few moments. If you don't know your Argento, you should research a bit. This is the third movie in a trilogy of stories surrounding The Three Mothers: Mater Suspiriorum, Mater Tenebrarum, and Mater Lachrymarum. The movie focuses on The Third Mother (La Terza Madre as the film is called in foreign markets) or The Mother of Tears as she is also known. The film follows the basic format of the previous two although the blood and gore is certainly turned up a notch...ok, several notches...ok, there's a ton more blood in this one. Fans of Argento's work seem to be split between loving and hating this film. I enjoyed it personally. If you love Argento, go see it and make your own judgement. There's a bit more story in this movie than there was in Suspiria or Inferno. Fans of occult movies should not miss this one. What you see is an illusion. What you cannot see is truth.

    Magical Mother

A magical and insane romp, Argento's best film in years! An epic fantasy where anything can happen. Filled with suspense, magic, mystery, and horror. Beautiful film with slick visuals and colorful moments. Stylish and atmospheric.
