Moonrise Kingdom conquers

Critics don't say "must go" very often, New England island, sounds harmless. Somehow it just wasn't very interesting. Too many stars can be a kiss of death. There wasn't much that was even remotely funny in my humble opinion. It's apparently meant to be silly, but the core of the story is a very serious subject. Eventually you kinda feel you're laughing at victims.

Wes Anderson does not disappoint

The kids are fantastic in their roles and the Wes standby's of Bill Murray and Jason Schwartzman do not disappoint. Bruce Willis and Ed Norton are welcome additions to the Anderson family.

Odd but certainly entertaining

I'm guessing the professional critics love this movie because it is an intelligent and entertaining departure from their normal diet of mindless action and rom-com movies. What the normal viewer will find is a quirky, almost surreal journey of interesting characters. The film moves along in a subdued manner that alternates between excitement, melancholy and sweetness. The acting is great, including a reminder that Bruce Willis doesn't need to get bloodied to get our attention. If you're in the mood for something different, give this one a try.

Almost Modern Fairytale

An amazingly wonderful film, like a odd and quirky (almost) modern fairytale. One of my favorite movies of the year, if not my absolute favorite. Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward were refreshingly perfect as Sam Shakusky and Suzy Bishop, the two love-fated pre-teens. Great acting, wonderful dialogue and story. Must go!

Wes Anderson and Roman Coppola?...I'M IN!

There's something about Anderson's films that truly hit the emotional spots with the feeling of grim reality mixed in. I have watched 2 movies of his and I have yet to be disappointed; Moonrise Kingdom should be no different. There's a certain thing that he does that evokes compassion with a realistic and at times satirical undertone. Bottom Line: I want to see this film. I saw this film a while ago and as usual Anderson did not disappoint; I was however concerned that there were kids doing adult-like things but other than that I was very impressed with the story and the many things that the audience can learn from the protagonists as the story moves along. All in all, great movie definitely worth watching
