Almost Modern Fairytale

An amazingly wonderful film, like a odd and quirky (almost) modern fairytale. One of my favorite movies of the year, if not my absolute favorite. Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward were refreshingly perfect as Sam Shakusky and Suzy Bishop, the two love-fated pre-teens. Great acting, wonderful dialogue and story. Must go!

Different, but a great story

My husband and I went to see this because the ratings were so good and it had a strong cast. We weren't disappointed. It's a bit quirky, but the story line is good and all the characters are played very well. Enjoyable.

Too good to be true!

I was so excited to see this movie, i.e. great actors, original story, not commercial, etc. . I was very disappointed. The movie is boring and the plot is so thin, luckily the actors are saving the movie a bit. This is very pale in comparison with " Stand by Me".

Odd but Cute

This movie was a bit odd as are all Wes Anderson flicks but it has two very cute likable pre-teen characters that make it a fun and enjoyable movie experience. My word to describe this movie is cute. Great performances were provided by all the actors and, particularly, the pre-teen protagonists.

Warm, whimsical, and poignant, the immaculately framed and beautifully acted Moonrise Kingdom presents writer/director Wes Anderson at his idiosyncratic best
