I have not enjoyed a movie more in years! The cast was great. It's always fun to have established actors playing alternative roles: Bruce Willis, Bill Murray, Edward Norton and Frances McDormand. The two teens who played the main characters were excellent, and I expect to see them in other films in the future.
Having been 9 years old myself in 1965, I could relate to the period costumes and other items like the battery-powered record player. I love films like these where sufficient time is spent to develop characters, so that they connect better with the audience.
Even though the comedy was dark, the story resolved to a nice ending that we all could enjoy. A “feel good” yet quirky film. A must see for those who like to view the world a little askew.

Liked this movie a lot. It's not the typical mainstream movie. It was quirky and pleasantly different. Felt I was really being entertained while watching it. Fun to see the time period things in the movie-old toys and kitchen items. Interestingly directed and great cinematography in my opinion. Go see this!

This movie is a piece of grace falling on you. It's magial, sweet, comfortable, surreal, nostalgic, and rings so so true. From the lovely photography which gives it an old-timey look, to the militarist and hilarious Scout troop, this is a winner, especially for those over 30. Give yourself a present. See this movie.

This is one of those movies that does not come around often but should. It's a must see. More...we need more movies done this well. Small budget I'm sure but it should be a huge hit. All of the roles were played perfectly and never over the top. Go see it.
