This was a good movie in general. Not as good as the first Monsters movie, though. Not sure what it was, or maybe it just didn't quite live up to the standard that the first Monsters movie set. One of the issues that I had with this movie was that if you never saw the first Monsters movie there were things about this one that you wouldn't understand or would have difficulty following. All in all, though, it was a good movie to go see and no major cons to this movie.

Last time we saw Billy Crystal in a movie, it was 2012's Parental Guidance, which was not great. So let's see if MU brings the actor back on his feet. To be honest, I was quite surprised at how predictable the movie was. I literally predicted the entire movie. Monsters University also loses points for being super boring until the third act (Much like Oz the Great and Powerful.) Not only that, but the story and characters are so cliched. However, the animation is good (Surprise, surprise) and the voice acting is good, and the humor works, and as a result, that is what saves the movie from being bad. For me, this is one of those visuals over writing movies, which there have been A LOT of those this year. Anyone who knows me knows that I haven't liked much of Pixar's recent films, starting with Toy Story 3
(I know, shocking.) Even if the humor works, the visuals are good, and the acting works, it's just okay. Critic Eric Kohn stated that "Pixar has lost it's edge." Unfortunately, I agree

It is definitely important to watch Monsters inc. so that you can gt some of the jokes in MU. You learn why Randall hates Sully and Mike, and how they got into the Scaring Business. This movie is great for all ages and just AWESOME!!!!!!! Well done Pixar!
The Short before was really amazing as well it almost looked real. I'm pretty sure that was the work of Pixar Vancouver, I loved it.
For those that read this, STAY UNTIL THE VERY END!!!!!!!! There is an important ending after the credits to understand the entire story.

I went to the midnight showing of Monsters University and I have to say it was not what I had expected. First thing, I feel like this is more directed to the teen audience rather that the younger aged audience. There were a few laughs here and there and overall a great experience. You don't need to watch Monsters INC to understand the movie, but you'll get some parts. Overall it was a fun and great experience and a pretty good movie

Great movie, beautiful animation and hilarious! As with every disney movie, there was a great message to be heard and even if that message was missed by little ones like mine who are are 7 & 5, it will hit them one day when they're re-watching it as teens!
A wee bit long for the little attention spans but all-in-all a must see for any Disney/Pixar fan!
