An imitator of sorts of Elinor Glyn, British-born screenwriter Mary Murillo penned no less than five melodramas for Theda Bara, the most notorious exponent of the mid-1910s' "Vamp" craze. According to her publicity, Murillo delivered "more than 50 original stories" while a staff writer at Fox between 1915-1918, including such Bara films as The Vixen, The Eternal Sapho, and East Lynne (all 1916)....
