Non-stop, jaw dropping action and special effects will keep you glued to the screen, but I never did understand what was going on.
It felt as though Stan Lee was trying to tell the entire Marvel Superhero/Agents of Shield story all at the same time... by, unsuccessfully, trying to combine the Super Hero's saga with a number of other superheroes, super villains and Shield characters; including the TV series back story.
So...I stopped trying to figure it all out and just let the eye-candy action carry me away...for which the 3-D is unnecessary, by the way.

Nice to see character development beyond the "hero" stuff. The social life banter between the characters during stressful situations was very funny. The action was top notch, worth the price of a ticket, especially in 3D.

It was a good movie; better than 'Internet' critics made it out to be. However, we paid to see 3-D; that was the WORST rendition of 3-D graphics we had ever seen. Don't waste money on the extra cost for 3-D.
Also, Robert Redford's acting was Terrible!!! And almost as bad if not worse, he looked worse than Bruce Jenner!!!
Other than those two factors, it IS a "GO SEE" movie!!!

Spoiler Alert do not read if you wish to get your own opinion.
This movie was so boring. I am a huge avengers fan but this movie made me literally fall asleep throughout the first 30 minutes. The rest of the time was spent on useless details to develop the story. There were like 3 action scenes and they were lame!!! Totally not worth the 3D either. The main bad guy was some old guy from Hydra. I felt like this movie was just to build up for the next one. I can assure you that the next one I will just see when it comes out on Netflix.

Saw this movie in 3D. I don't think I've seen a great 3D movie since Avatar. The effects in this movie weren't worth the extra price and primarily included champagne glasses sitting at the front of the screen and blurry foreground/background images. Bush league, imho.
The story was fine and is additive to the Captain America series but the timeline hops detracted from the modern-day adventure.
Good CG action scenes.
I'd probably give the movie 4 stars in flatscreen mode, 3- in 3D.
