Mario Carillo
Birth Place:
Naples, Italy

Biography

Reportedly a real-life Neapolitan count (born Caracciolo), tall, mustachioed Mario Carillo had served in the Italian cavalry and functioned as a lawyer prior to entering films in 1922. Often cast as noblemen, Carillo also portrayed supercilious major-domos (Mary Pickford's Rosita, 1923) or headwaiters. The striking 6'1", 185-pound supporting actor left films at the advent of sound. ~ Hans J. Wollstein, Rovi
