So many of the actors in this movie I love, and that's part of the reason why I wanted to see this flick. Wall Street movies are appealing to me and I feel like this movie has been done so many times before but with a different twist.
I thought it was slow-moving and very clear how it was to end. Most of the time throughout the movie I found myself looking at my watch, wondering when they were just gonna get it over with.

A must-see. Great cast, great look, great direction, great everything. If you have a chance, you should definitely see this movie! No finger-pointing, no good guys vs bad guys, just very human, very dramatic, very honest, very good.

There is no hero. People want pretty people to act and do wonderful things, but there is no moral compass, just greed. This story is about now. We have a financial system built on air and the only rule is the hot potato rule. Thanks to our government, the people of this country are left holding the bag "yes I'll have another mortgage back security".
I cannot find fault with this movie. It was well played and it was thought provoking. The only question that remains is what is our end game. I fear it is not far.

a movie that doesn't dumb down villains and heroes in order to make a point. it is tough to see who to blame here, although the CEO (played by Irons) gets a fair amount of it. One of the more realistic wall st movies, worth seeing. as usual @KevinSpacey gives a stunning, movie-carrying performance as the nuanced 30-year middle manager having doubts about how he has spent his life. spoiler alert: his last speech to the traders on the day of the end of it all...simply fantastic, subtle acting that brings into question our entire (20th century, united states) society. obviously he did not write the script, but only such an actor could deliver that believably without going into kitsch

The reason I went to see Margin Call this afternoon was because of the cast. Brilliant actors, and they were all exceptional in the movie. But I had one little problem; I sat there listenting to the dialogue, and not understanding 98% of what they were talking about. i'm sorry, I am not into investment banking, the stock market, or anything else. I simply didn't know what was going on. Did this interfere with my enjoyment of the film? Yes. I would have liked to understand what the point was of all the panic. Something about the firm's having fewer assets than money? I don't know, something like that.
If you are smarter than I am, which is a sure thing probably, you'll love it for the acting.
