It seems the writers couldn't make up their mind if this was supposed to be a drama, comedy, satire or thriller.
Overall the satire works well, the other makes it just feel uneven.

Some of the parts were funny, but it wasn't great for me. I thought it would be better. But the ending was pretty good. Oh, yeah, and I hated that girl, whatever her name was.

By looking at the poster for this movie you would think it would be a laugh a minute, side splitter. Unfortunately, this is not the case. The reason is because Robin Williams' talent for improvisation is stifled in this movie. In fact, if the scenes where Robin was obviously allowed to improvise (for example the hilarious scene where he upstaged everyone in the debate) had been left in, the computer glitch subplot completely cut from the movie, and the focus being solely on Tom Dodd actually in the White House working to change things, the movie would have been so much funnier.

Choppy and slow at the start and never shows any development. Only one central theme in the first hour - be funny. I wish they would have taken their own advice. During the second hour it turns into an action/adventure which is not why I bought the ticket. Any part that might have been funny were shown in the trailer, some that weren't even in the movie. I had high hopes for this movie, but sorry to say don't waste your time or money.

While I was not looking forward to seeing this movie, i was pleasantly surprised by the variety it offered. Not just a Robin Williams vehicle, it was also fun and interesting. I would recommend it to anybody who wants to just ahve fun for a few hours!
