Sure, Superman is simply Superman. However, this one was different in that he was physically and emotinally more human. The special effects were great and the acting was very pleasing. The special effects did not carry the movie.

Movie was very good, and extremely well put together. I like the role that they showed Kal, son of el (Kal-el) in both a human and superhuman state. You felt his inner struggle. it was something I'd never seen in a Superman movie.
My only gripe was that when the action hit it was sometimes a bit difficult to follow. All of these explosions and crazy camera angles are hitting you extremly fast, and it puts you on sensory overload for a bit.
If you are not a fan of Superman, and you do not know much about it, the movie might be sort of confusing and a bit hard to follow, but I think for any fan, you are going to love it.
Overall I give it a solid A-

Not for the Superman purist. A little too dark for what Superman is supposed to represent....special effects are cool but it was a little over the top. Too many changes to the original story line including his relationship with Lois. My opinion may change over time but for now I was left a little confused and disappointed. Something just seemed to be missing for me.

Read the reviews before going so i went with low expectations.... For the first time in a long time i came out of this movie ready and WILLING to go right back in and watch it a second time. I would love to see a video of my facial expressions as i watched this. BLOWN away. There is no describing it you leave the theater exhausted and giddy as a 10 year old child. I dont want to spoil anything for anyone. Pay for Imax. do not scrimp on this movie. Stunned is the best word i can think of. Going again I have NO PROBLEM paying 16 bucks to see this again at IMAX. Enjoy guys and forget the critics.

I am 32 years old. I have been a fan of Superman since I was 2 or 3. That puts me almost at the 30 year mark of being a fan. I have followed him through several iterations, reboots, deaths, resurrections, marriages and alternate timelines. Are you clear on the weight of my authority to speak on the subject of Superman? Good.
If you go into this movie ready to compare it to the original Christopher Reeves movie, you will be disappointed. It is very different: Note I said different. Not better or worse. It takes certain departures from Superman canon, but no more so than DC Comics did with their recent reboot of the comics. Understand instead that you are going to a movie with a re-imagined character, and you will enjoy it.
I love Superman, and tend to be critical of the media surrounding him. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. I hope you will too!
